Heart Disease and Stroke are the #1 cause of premature death of Canadian women.

Traditional risk factors are hypertension, diabetes, elevated
cholesterol, smoking, physical inactivity, and obesity.
89% of Canadian women are unaware of their unique risk
factors.

These include autoimmune and inflammatory disorders such
as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, early menopause,
polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), pregnancy related
disorders such as gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia,
preterm births, placental abruption, depression and infertility.

Diabetes and smoking can present greater risk in women
than men.
